If you can believe it, it's been a month since I started working on this website. Let me tell you something, it's felt like a rocky road with not a whole lot to show for it, at least I don't think there's a lot to show for it. It's pretty unrealistic to expect a website to emerge fully formed from someone's brow with what amounts to years and years of content already on it for people to peruse and get lost in. I guess Real Life and the sluggish pace of my own output are more powerful than my ambitions, and you know what? I think that's okay.
I suppose if I have to hype myself up about it, the site's in a lot better place than it was a month ago. And it certainly looks way better than it did a few years back. For reference HERE is how the site looked a month ago when I was beholden to the Almighty Template, and HERE is what it looked like a few years back. If you look at the site now, you can see that I've tried to put in the work to make it more my own, but there's still some things I'd like to do. I doubt I'll ever really be finished with the site, so I hope I don't run out of Neocities space anytime soon. Can you imagine me having to pay 5 bucks a month to blast other people's eyes with this?
I guess now's a good time to think about future plans. Truth be told, I don't really have any, I'm definitely gonna put in a misc. page to hold everything that isn't a good fit for existing categories until there's enough stuff of one type in there to justify its own category. As for my other ventures, I'll probably still upload tables and art from time to time, but I think I might just keep the writing here in my blog for now. As it stands I'm not confident enough in my writing to publicly share more of it. If that changes, then I'll start updating that section more again. I anticipate this will give me more time to work on other things, as the process of writing anything more complex than a meandering blog post takes a considerable amount of time, and these days I have precious little time to devote to activities that take a lot of work for very little self satisfaction.
I'd like to do more dumb stuff too, dumb fun stuff. I don't exactly know what that will entail, but you'll definitely know when you see it. The goal of the dumb stuff is to make people smile, even if it's only for a few moments. Guess that's the long and short of it.
