A year. Can you believe that? An entire freakin' year since I started seriously worked on this site. That's something worth celebrating, most of my projects don't last this long nowadays, but I think not really having any expectations may have helped its longevity.
I'm not exactly sure what you're supposed to say on an anniversary, but maybe it's worth defining a few goals. I'd like to learn a bit more about HTML and Web Design to make the site a lot easier to update while still looking like an affront to modern web design principles. I still don't like how boring the internet has become, so I'm going to continue doing my part to ensure it stays weird. Now that I have a baseline to work off of, I can start making some more experimental stuff, or at least try to make something experimental. Who knows, I'm a creature of structure and habit, so this may be easier said than done.
I know I already have a special thanks page set up, but I do think for the anniversary some special acknowledgement is in order. First of all, I'd like to thank everyone who visited the site over the past year. That my site is worth even a fraction of your time means a lot to me. I'd also like to thank the following communities, in no particular order: The Melonland Forum, Einar Appreciators Anonymous, The Spinning Stream, and my local support group. If you all haven't given me a home on the net (which you totally have, by the way) you've at least given me a virtual couch to crash on. I'm proud to be a member of all of these spaces. Finally I'd like to thank my parents, for finally leaving me alone long enough for me to find myself.
Here's hoping we're still all in one piece this time next year, or perhaps even better than one piece. I dunno, I'm not your dad.
Quote of the Day: Can't think of one, sorry.
